Pursuing a studio art major enables you to discover and enhance your creative potential, whether or not you aim to become a professional artist. As an art student, you'll hone problem-solving abilities while nurturing your aesthetic judgment and visual perception. These valuable skills will enhance your personal growth, widen your worldview, and equip you for success in any field demanding creative thinking and artistic sensibility. Our studio art program features a distinguished faculty of nationally recognized artists passionate about mentoring undergraduate students. Your artistic journey starts with foundational courses exposing you to diverse mediums like drawing, painting, and sculpture. Art history classes provide insight into evolving artistic movements, helping you situate your own work within cultural and historical frameworks. Advanced studies offer specialization options including printmaking, ceramics, photography, video production, and digital arts. The curriculum is complemented by courses in art theory and critique, laying the groundwork for ongoing artistic growth throughout your career.
Freshman applicant will be completing or have completed secondary school and have not enrolled at any college or university.
English language proficiency
Score 6.5 or higher on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination: Internet-based test (iBT): Minimum score of 80 or better
iBT Home Edition: Minimum score of 80 or better
Paper-delivered test: Minimum score of 60 or better
Deadline for fall admission is October 1–November 30.
