The Goldman School provides a joint degree program with the College of Engineering, enabling students admitted to both institutions to earn both MS and MPP degrees within two years, including a summer internship. Typically, MS/MPP candidates complete GSPP's first-year core curriculum, then dedicate their second year to writing a substantial paper that fulfills both the MS thesis and MPP APA requirements, while primarily taking engineering electives along with six units approved by both schools.
Given the program's small size and department-specific admissions within the College of Engineering, each student's curriculum is typically tailored through collaboration between advisors from both programs.
Prospective students interested in the dual degree should choose the Public Policy/Engineering option when starting their online application. While the departments may discuss applications during review, admissions decisions are made separately, meaning acceptance to one program doesn't guarantee admission to the other.
