Tailored for individuals holding a master's degree in nutrition, the PhD in Nutrition Science offers a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on research. The curriculum focuses on core subjects like biochemistry, physiology, and nutritional studies, alongside extensive research possibilities in lab and clinical environments. Faculty members investigate diverse subjects through animal and human studies, addressing both practical and theoretical challenges. Graduates will gain the expertise needed to thrive in research careers and assume leadership roles across academic, corporate, and public sectors.
Applicants to the PhD program are expected to have an MS degree in nutrition or a related field from an accredited college or university. Students with a BS degree who wish to enter the PhD program should apply to the MS in Nutrition Science program. A bypass of the MS degree into the PhD program may be possible based on academic performance and research potential observed during the first academic year.  
A minimum GPA of 3.0 in the last 60 hours of coursework.
