The International Studies program equips students with cultural awareness, linguistic abilities, and area expertise to cultivate a comprehensive global perspective. Participants must complete foreign language coursework up to the third-year level. This interdisciplinary major blends foundational courses in global history and international relations with specialized knowledge about a chosen region's culture, historical development, religious traditions, societal frameworks, and political systems. Focus areas include: Africa and the Middle East; Asia; Latin America; or Modern Europe.
 
Have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma.  If you have already completed secondary school, you need to submit both academic transcripts and proof of graduation with your application documents. 
Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.000, both overall and at the University at Buffalo
