The University of Arizona's Department of Geosciences provides a two-year Master of Science (M.S.) program and a four-year Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program. These research-focused degrees include coursework components along with a culminating M.S. thesis or Ph.D. dissertation requirement.
All applicants automatically qualify for financial assistance opportunities, including teaching/research assistantships and fellowships. Nearly every admitted student receives funding, with M.S. candidates supported for two years and Ph.D. candidates for four years.
