The Master of Science in Clinical Research prepares students to become skilled clinical investigators who can carry out high-quality research. Participants in this program gain expertise in designing, implementing, and interpreting human subject studies aimed at improving therapeutic approaches and healthcare results. The curriculum covers essential topics including clinical data management, research publication and presentation techniques, ethical research practices, and biostatistical methods. Candidates with advanced medical degrees (MD, DO, MBBS) might qualify to transfer a maximum of 6 credits. Completion of the program requires an original thesis project developed under faculty guidance.

Qualification Requirements

Submit your application for admission to the Clinical Research M.S. program using the Graduate College's online application (GradApp) at http://apply.grad.arizona.edu/. You will specify the campus on which you wish to study (Main/Tucson or Phoenix).
Letters of Recommendation: You must have one professional letter of recommendation attesting to your ability to complete the program. You will identify the recommenders in GradApp, and they will receive an e-mail from the Graduate College prompting them to directly upload their letters of recommendation to accompany your application. Be sure to notify the recommenders to expect the e-mail when you submit your application. You may request more than two letters of recommendation.
Curriculum Vitae: You will upload your current C.V. to be included with your application in GradApp.
Personal Statement: Please prepare a statement explaining your interest in Clinical Research, including any specific research interests (and expected faculty mentor, if already identified). You may also discuss why you feel you are a good candidate for the Clinical Research program and/or how training in Clinical Research would contribute to your career objectives.

Standardized Tests
International applicants from non-English speaking countries must report an adequate score on an English proficiency exam accepted by the Graduate College. GRE scores are not required.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT (or 60 on the revised PBT with no section score lower than 15). Individual MyBest scores must also be dated within 2 years of the enrollment term to be considered valid.
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6
Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) - 3.00
