The Master of Fine Arts program in Studio Art (a 60-unit terminal degree) integrates conceptual, technical, and analytical skills to help students develop a more profound comprehension of their artistic vision. Graduate candidates take 30 units in studio art courses covering 2D Painting and Printmaking, 3D and Extended Media, Photography Video Imaging, Illustration along with Design or Interdisciplinary Practice. Additionally, they complete 12 units of electives, 3 units in ART 696A Contemporary Art: Concepts and Issues, 3 units in ART 596 Graduate Professional Practice, and 12 units of Art History coursework.
