The Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) represents the highest academic qualification in artistic practice. This program, specializing in art, mandates at least 60 graduate-level credit hours. Participants can focus on disciplines such as ceramics, jewelry design and metalsmithing, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpture. Advanced courses in Drawing and Transmedia are available as secondary studio options or elective credits. Typically, applicants should possess a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art for M.F.A. consideration. A faculty review panel, specializing in the applicant's chosen studio field, will assess the candidate's portfolio and may conduct an interview. Based on this evaluation, the committee will decide on program admission and specify any foundational requirements. GRE scores are not required for M.F.A. applications.
