This certification program is tailored for geoengineers currently employed or aspiring to work in Arizona. It offers foundational knowledge about geoengineering challenges and contemporary design approaches within the state, serving as a valuable addition to an undergraduate or Master's degree. All coursework for this program will be delivered digitally via the University's Desire to Learn (D2L) platform.
Graduates of the Arizona Geoengineering Certificate will gain specialized knowledge of regional geoengineering concerns and become eligible to pursue Master of Science and/or Master of Engineering degrees. Admission requirements include holding a Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related scientific field, along with fulfilling all necessary course prerequisites.

Admissions requirements: Enrollment is limited to graduates of accredited engineering bachelors programs and other cognate degrees (chemistry, geology, or physics, etc) with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the necessary prerequisites completed for the courses in the certificate program. To be admitted to this certificate program, it is preferred that candidates have several years of responsible professional experience, preferably in a geoengineering field of study.
Test of English as a Foreign Language(link is external) (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT (or 60 on the revised PBT with no section score lower than 15).
International English Language Testing System(link is external) (IELTS) - minimum composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6
