The Certificate in College Teaching (CCT) aims to equip students with essential knowledge and skills for their present and future roles as educators in higher education and adult learning environments. The program's learning objectives focus on enabling participants to:

This 10-credit certification program consists of:
IA 697a Student-Focused Instruction (2 credits)
IA 697b Educational Technology Integration (2 credits)
Elective courses (totaling 3 credits)
IA 697p Teaching Practicum (3 credits)
Students can finish the program in as little as two semesters (with IA 697a and IA 697b required before IA 697p), with a maximum completion time of four years.

Qualification Requirements

All applicants must meet the minimum admission requirements for the Graduate College (awarded a bachelors or equivalent, minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale, English proficiency documentation for international students). There is no GRE required.
Current graduate students or alumni of the University of Arizona do not need to provide official transcripts.
All other individuals, please send TWO (2) official transcripts from ALL Higher Education institutions attended to the departmental address below. The department will forward official transcripts with our recommendation for admission to the Graduate College for further review.

International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - minimum composite score of 7, with no subject area below a 6
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - minimum score of 79 iBT (or 60 on the revised PBT with no section score lower than 15). Individual MyBest scores must also be dated within 2 years of the enrollment term to be considered valid.
