Earning a master's degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education prepares you for professional roles in college student services. This 45-credit program offers two delivery options - choose between the traditional on-campus format or the flexible online version when submitting your application.
The residential option features selective admission with intimate cohort sizes of 20-24 students, coupled with valuable on-campus work opportunities. Full-time students typically graduate within two academic years.

For those requiring greater scheduling flexibility, the online alternative provides coursework through CSU Online's Canvas platform, with all interactions conducted virtually. While courses follow an asynchronous format allowing self-paced study, the program demands significant commitment. Completion timelines range from three to five years based on individual availability.

Statement of Purpose

Bachelor's degree must be completed by the start of your graduate program.

U.S. degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution to qualify for CSU graduate admission (certificate or degree program).

Contact your department to find out if unofficial transcripts are accepted. If your department accepts unofficial transcripts, you may be admitted and registered in your first semester of courses with an unofficial transcript. Official transcripts must be submitted, prior to or during your first semester, before you can register for your second semester of graduate work. Failure to meet this condition will result in your dismissal from the Graduate School.

You will need unofficial transcripts of all collegiate work completed post-high school. Separate transcripts are required for study abroad if the courses, grades, and credits are not recorded on the transcript of the university that sponsored the study abroad.

Training course transcripts from branches of the U.S. Military that show credit received with neither grades nor degrees awarded are exempt from the transcript requirements. You must upload the front and back of transcripts and include any grading scale provided.

In general, the minimum cumulative GPA for non-provisional admittance is a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) to be admitted by the Graduate School.
