The Master of Education program at The University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) equips educators to support all learners. The Differentiated Instruction specialization empowers teachers to address the needs of diverse classrooms, including students with disabilities. Throughout the program, you'll gain expertise in: cultural influences on educational settings, strategies for managing productive learning environments, creative assessment and instructional techniques, partnership-building with families and communities, evidence-based approaches for teaching diverse learners according to their individual requirements,
conducting classroom-based action research to enhance student outcomes.
UAH's innovative program structure allows general and special education teachers to complete foundational coursework together before specializing. ESOL participants fulfill internship requirements that can be completed while teaching. These Class A programs aim to enhance educators' abilities to serve diverse student populations through advanced skill development.
Applicants must Holds a minimum of a bachelor's degree; Holds a teaching certificate in education (any content area); Holds a teaching certificate in elementary education (K-6) for Differentiated Instruction (Elementary K-6) and Reading Specialist (P-12) major; Pass the GRE/MAT requirements, OR have 3 years of successful teaching, OR 3.0 undergraduate cumulative GPA, OR other master's degree.
Applicants must meet the following minimums on the TOEFL or IELTS. TOEFL (iBT): all sub-scores greater than or equal to 18 OR IELTS: all sub-scores greater than or equal to 6.0
