The English graduate program equips both new graduates and working professionals for careers in research, writing, editing, and teaching at secondary and postsecondary levels. Our curriculum offers varied literature and writing courses that provide cultural enrichment, rigorous research training, and marketable writing and media-editing competencies.
Earning a master's in English qualifies graduates to teach at college level, with many alumni continuing to prestigious PhD programs nationwide including Vanderbilt, UC Riverside, Indiana, Washington, UMass, and Purdue.
The Technical Writing Certificate program prepares students for writing and editing roles across multiple sectors, particularly in Huntsville's tech and defense industries. Remarkably, 80% of certificate candidates secure employment either before graduating or shortly after.
