This concentration offers students coursework covering human anatomy, physiology, chemistry, physics, strength training, aerobic exercise, fitness assessment techniques, nutritional science related to physical activity, among other subjects.
The exercise science specialization within the kinesiology program equips graduates for careers in both clinical environments (including cardiac rehab, diabetes management, and electrophysiology) and non-clinical roles (such as fitness specialists, personal instructors, and athletic performance coaches). It also provides foundational knowledge for advanced studies in biomechanics, metabolic science, and athletic enhancement, as well as preparation for healthcare fields like rehabilitation therapy, chiropractic care, sports medicine, nutrition science, nursing, and medical practice.
