The Master of Social Work Program at The University of Alabama School of Social Work aims to develop skilled scholar-practitioners who can positively impact individuals and families, strengthen communities, and promote policy changes for systemic improvement.
MSW Program graduates will gain the ability to:
Provide research-informed social work services to varied client groups encompassing youth, families, or adult populations.
Champion the needs of at-risk groups including minors, their relatives, or adult family units.
Practice advanced, culturally aware social work with young people, their families, or adult clients and relatives.
Evaluate, develop, and shape institutional and public policies affecting youth, families, or adult populations.
Implement professional social work principles and ethical standards when working with children, adolescents, families, or adult clients.
