The Department of Psychology offers a PhD program with specialized tracks in Clinical Psychology and Experimental Psychology, each containing distinct focus areas. The Clinical Psychology track includes concentrations in Child Psychology, Health Psychology, Geropsychology, and Psychology-Law. The Experimental Psychology track features specializations in Cognitive, Developmental, and Social Psychology. Our program emphasizes cultivating expert researchers and university educators, with the Clinical track additionally preparing professional practitioners. All instruction and training occur on-campus, as we do not offer online options.
Guided by its core mission, the Department of Psychology fosters independent academic inquiry while ensuring mastery of psychology's foundational principles and specialized disciplines. We develop psychologist-scientists and scientist-practitioners through comprehensive research training, rigorous academic coursework, teaching experiences, and practical applications in the field.
