The clinical child psychology specialization equips doctoral students for professional roles as researchers and practitioner-scientists in pediatric psychology and clinical child/adolescent psychology.
Participants in this program will undertake specialized courses focused on youth, adolescents, and family systems. Beyond classroom learning, those in the child clinical track can engage in targeted research, educational, and clinical experiences with younger populations.
A primary objective of this specialization involves training students to evaluate intervention efficacy and assessment tools within clinical settings. The program highlights developmental psychopathology's significance in youth-focused research, evaluation, and therapeutic approaches.
Alongside core faculty mentorship, trainees will learn from practicing clinical child psychologists and pediatric specialists serving as adjunct instructors. The program offers varied practical training opportunities in assessment and therapeutic interventions for enrolled students.
