The sculpture program fosters creative exploration in three-dimensional aesthetics and philosophies. By studying materials and processes, we uncover and reflect on our fascinations with the surrounding world. As a dynamic, multidisciplinary media field, we blend traditional and modern sculptural approaches to develop innovative solutions. Emphasizing physical object creation, craftsmanship, planning, and presentation, we equip students to become skilled professionals and engaged community members.
Our digital fabrication shop, foundry, and woodshop are supported by expert arts technicians holding UA studio degrees and diverse skill sets.
Located at the heart of UA's main campus, sculpture facilities span four buildings: Woods Hall, Bureau of Mines 4 & 5 (BOM), and the Art Graduate Studio Building. These spaces include both indoor and outdoor work areas totaling 16,445 square feet.
