The sculpture program fosters creative exploration in three-dimensional aesthetics and philosophy. By studying materials and processes, we uncover and reflect on our fascinations with the surrounding world. As a dynamic, multidisciplinary field, we blend traditional and modern sculptural approaches to develop innovative solutions. Emphasizing physical object creation, craftsmanship, strategic planning, and professional presentation, we equip students to become skilled practitioners and engaged community members.
Our specialized facilities include a metal workshop, foundry, and woodshop, all supervised by accomplished arts technicians holding UA studio degrees and diverse professional expertise.
Located at the heart of UA's main campus, our sculpture facilities span four buildings: Woods Hall, Bureau of Mines 4 & 5 (BOM), and the Art Graduate Studio Building. These interconnected spaces—combining indoor and outdoor work areas—total 16,445 square feet of creative workspace.
