Studio art students investigate and produce works through the vocabulary of two- and three-dimensional forms, spatial relationships, and temporal elements across diverse mediums and technologies. These include ceramics, digital arts, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. Undergraduate students can choose between two studio art degree paths. The bachelor of arts in studio art offers a liberal arts foundation, while the bachelor of fine arts provides professional training for those pursuing art careers, design fields, or advanced graduate studies.
The Painting curriculum supports varied artistic methodologies while consistently emphasizing the thoughtful fusion of technique and conceptual depth. As students progress, they cultivate a personal relationship with the medium, guided by theoretical insights and mastery of both traditional and modern practices. Advanced students focus on defining their artistic vision and situating their creations within contemporary and historical painting contexts. To enrich learning, the program organizes gallery visits, museum trips, and talks by guest artists and critics alongside regular coursework.
