The printmaking program welcomes both conventional and innovative approaches within the print medium. Cross-disciplinary work is encouraged, with students urged to investigate the relationships between printmaking and other artistic fields.
Coursework focuses on building technical skills while engaging with historical context and modern conceptual frameworks. Foundational courses introduce diverse studio methods for creative exploration, while upper-level classes foster personal artistic development and distinctive visual expression.
Students gain exposure through exhibition opportunities, professional gatherings, and specialized workshops, both locally and within wider art networks. Teaching occurs in a collaborative studio setting featuring these resources: digital imaging and printing, intaglio techniques, lithographic processes (both stone and plate), photomechanical methods, relief printing, and screenprinting facilities.
