The Visual Studies School's Art program fosters artistic growth, teaches visual communication skills, and equips students with both technical abilities and conceptual understanding for sustained creative practice. Studio art classes cultivate analytical thinking, innovative solutions, and enduring learning habits across disciplines like ceramics, drawing, textiles, graphic design, painting, photography, printmaking, and sculpture. The BA program blends 30-40 studio art credits with 9 art history credits within a liberal arts framework. Graduates enter diverse fields such as fine arts, illustration, art education, museum curation, commercial design, and digital media creation. Today's employers increasingly value the creative cognition and inventive approaches developed through art education.
