Advanced courses in trial practice, appellate advocacy, and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) allow students to refine these crucial skills. For those dedicated to litigation, specialized coursework options are available. Through focused study, Akron Law students can earn a Litigation Certificate, demonstrating both concentrated coursework and superior academic performance in these subjects. We also offer a combined J.D./LL.M. in Intellectual Property that can be finished in three years of full-time enrollment

Qualification Requirements

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS): The TOEFL or IELTS is generally required of all foreign-educated applicants. The preferred scores on TOEFL IBT (internet based test) are a 102 and 610 for the PBT (paper based test). The preferred score on the IELTS is a 7.5.
