The Department of Library and Information Science collaborates with the Columbus School of Law to deliver a combined degree program designed for aspiring law librarians. This initiative addresses the dual qualification needs for many legal library roles, which typically demand both a Juris Doctor and a Library Science degree. Participants can complete their library science requirements with just 27 graduate credit hours, while also transferring up to 12 library science credits to count toward their J.D. program.
The total number of library and information science semester hours of graduate credit required is reduced to 27, and a student in the program may apply up to 12 library science credits toward the J.D. degree.
