With an interdisciplinary and customized approach, the Women's Studies certificate cultivates critical thinking about women's issues, placing diversity at the heart of its academic mission. It examines cultural norms that have historically marginalized differences in gender, sexuality, ethnicity, race, and socioeconomic status, equipping students to understand and engage with our diverse world. This program brings together academic research on women and gender from multiple disciplines, encouraging students to question preconceptions, consider alternative perspectives, and critically analyze influential societal structures like family, religion, education, business, and government. The Women's Studies curriculum enables students to reassess traditional knowledge while empowering them to advocate for social change beyond academia. Both certificate candidates and non-certificate students can register for Women's Studies courses or consult with the program director about academic planning. The certificate can be pursued separately from degree requirements.
