Tulane's NAAB-accredited M.Arch program welcomes students from diverse academic backgrounds seeking to pursue architecture careers
Our first-professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch) serves as the central platform for developing innovative design approaches at Tulane School of Architecture. The curriculum leverages our faculty's professional knowledge while fostering an inclusive, diverse learning community.
The accelerated two-year option caters to students with significant architectural training. Applicants holding pre-professional degrees like a Bachelor of Science in Architecture or Bachelor of Environmental Design, or international students with architecture qualifications from their home countries seeking US/Canadian licensure, may qualify for advanced standing in the M.Arch program. Advanced placement is offered to architecture students with extensive undergraduate experience but no professional degree - typically those holding 4-year pre-professional architecture degrees meeting NAAB standards. Placement decisions involve aligning previous coursework with Tulane's M.Arch curriculum. Applicants must submit transcripts and portfolios, and may need to provide course syllabi for evaluation.
