The Division of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Interpreter Training is dedicated to preparing skilled counseling and psychology professionals by adhering to the most rigorous standards established by state and national accreditation bodies. Graduates of Troy University's counseling programs will-
Acquire comprehensive knowledge about the counseling field, including professional identity, roles, history, ethical/legal considerations, current practices, supervision approaches, crisis response, and self-care techniques.
Master research methods and program assessment skills to critically examine and implement effective counseling practices and studies.
Cultivate professional attitudes to thoughtfully address ethical, legal, diversity, and best practice challenges in counseling.
Hone clinical skills to assess, implement, and develop treatment approaches, therapeutic methods, evaluation tools, and culturally responsive strategies for school, clinical, and community environments.
Apply fundamental counseling principles to demonstrate professional competence and identity in practice settings.

Qualification Requirements

Hold a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited or equivalent foreign university with a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or a 3.0 grade point average on the last 30 semester hours. All hours attempted in the term in which the 30 semester hours were reached will be used to calculate the grade point average. Students entering licensure and professional programs must meet specified grade point average requirements.
OR
Hold a baccalaureate degree from an unaccredited or otherwise accredited college or university with a minimum overall undergraduate grade point average of 2.5 (4.0 scale) or a 3.0 grade point average on the last 30 semester hours. All hours attempted in the term in which the 30 semester hours were reached will be used to calculate the grade point average. International English Language Testing System (IELTS)- overall score of 6.0.
TOEFL- (Internet-based test) - overall 70.
TOEFL- (Paper-based test) - overall 523.
