The Jefferson College of Population Health (JCPH) provides a Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH)-accredited Master of Public Health (MPH) program. This curriculum equips students with expertise across essential public health domains including social and behavioral health sciences, biostatistics, environmental health, epidemiology, health policy, advocacy, and program development and assessment. The program emphasizes interdisciplinary learning with a focus on leadership development, systemic approaches, effective health communication, international health perspectives, and cultural awareness.
The intensive one-year track caters to aspiring healthcare providers, beginning each fall term. MPH LEAP participants emerge as skilled practitioners in Evidence-Based Practice, Implementation Science, and Preventive Medicine, prepared to create meaningful impact in both clinical and community settings.
This accelerated public health curriculum aims to expand the pool of healthcare professionals with specialized public health education, focusing on enhancing wellness, ensuring quality care, and tackling health disparities within healthcare systems and local communities.
JCPH's LEAP Pathway enhances the institution's mission to educate healthcare professionals by offering pre-health students a chance to complete an intensive MPH during their gap year. The program develops competencies in leadership, disease surveillance, statistical analysis, health promotion, healthcare systems, policy development, wellness strategies, and preventive medicine. Graduates of the MPH LEAP program gain the skills to confront current and emerging public health challenges effectively.
