The Health Behavior Concentration prepares students to: Utilize theoretical frameworks to analyze and assess the ecological, multilevel factors influencing health behaviors, with emphasis on social determinants and root causes of disparities in health outcomes. Develop skills to design, modify, execute, and assess enduring evidence-based initiatives for health promotion and disease prevention. Effectively share and present program methodologies and results with diverse audiences including researchers, professionals, and the general public. Analyze and evaluate scientific evidence to advance evidence-based approaches in public health research and practice. Understand how social determinants impact health results and intervention efficacy, while developing approaches to reduce health inequities in community public health initiatives.
