This program provides advanced studies in literature, creative writing, and linguistics. Designed to go beyond undergraduate education, it offers a unique academic journey focused on deeper exploration and honing analytical skills. The English Department provides both in-person and online M.A. programs, with identical course offerings across both formats. The English M.A. requires 36 semester hours and offers thesis and non-thesis tracks. Thesis candidates take 30 hours of graduate coursework plus 6 thesis hours, culminating in a written thesis and defense. The non-thesis alternative involves 36 hours of coursework, with students compiling and defending a portfolio featuring revised essays or creative works, accompanied by a reflective piece.

International applicants must provide original language documents and English translations. If the documents are not provided in English, an official English translation of all transcripts/ individual semester mark sheets is required.
If admitted, the applicant will be required to submit official transcripts, diplomas/degree certificates, and test scores by the twelfth class day of the term to which the applicant is admitted.
Original or Certified Copies of All College and University Transcripts - Include mark sheets, examination results, etc. An official English translation is required. If the degree is not complete when the application is made, six semesters or three years of course work are required.
All international applicants must be in good academic standing at any school they are currently attending. All international applicants must have been in good standing in all schools they previously attended at their final matriculation.
TOEFL - The minimum TOEFL score required is 550 (paper-based version) or 79 (internet-based version).
IELTS - The minimum IELTS required score is an overall band score of 6.5 on the Academic version.
