The Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (M.S.I.E.), Master of Science in Systems and Engineering Management (M.S.SYEM), Master of Science in Manufacturing Engineering (M.S.Mfg.E.), along with the Doctor of Philosophy in Industrial Engineering and Doctor of Philosophy in Systems and Engineering Management programs, equip students to become skilled industrial engineers and engineering managers for careers in industry, consulting, academia, and research.
Under the guidance of a graduate advisor, students create customized study plans. At the master's level, two pathways are available: (1) a 30-credit thesis track, incorporating 6 thesis research credits, and (2) a 30-credit non-thesis alternative. Coursework may feature a minor specialization and allow for up to six credits outside industrial engineering. The doctoral curriculum mandates at least 60 post-baccalaureate credits, with a maximum of 15 credits allocated to IE 7000 (Research). Doctoral candidates may also complete up to 15 credits in an external minor field outside industrial engineering.
