The Doctor of Philosophy in Family and Consumer Sciences Education (FCSE) equips graduates for academic careers in universities and leadership positions in related fields. This Ph.D. program mandates at least 60 semester hours, not counting dissertation work. Applicants must hold a master's degree from an accredited university to enroll. Students can pursue the FCSE doctorate either on-site at the Lubbock campus or through distance learning. All participants must attend an initial two-day orientation in person. Distance learners are also required to present their dissertation defenses on campus.
