TTU's Counseling programs hold national accreditation from CACREP (Council for the Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs).
The Ph.D. curriculum mandates at least 93 credit hours, which includes 12 dedicated dissertation credits. According to Texas regulations, doctoral candidates must fulfill a residency requirement involving two back-to-back semesters with 12 credit hours each.
Our faculty actively participate in counseling organizations at various levels, from local to national. They promote student involvement in these professional groups while cultivating an inclusive atmosphere that honors diverse perspectives and backgrounds. Committed to the counseling profession's ethical principles, faculty members model these standards and guide students in adopting them. They emphasize implementing ethical approaches that maintain accessibility and quality in Counselor Education.
