The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) in Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management (RHIM), Texas' pioneering program, functions as a completion pathway for those holding an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) in culinary arts or hospitality administration from accredited community colleges. The curriculum incorporates up to 33 credit hours from students' prior culinary or hospitality coursework at their original institution. Students must also complete Texas Tech University and College of Human Sciences foundational courses, along with 40 credits of specialized RHIM coursework and electives, providing comprehensive hospitality business training. A mandatory 400-hour industry internship contributes to the program's 1,200-hour professional experience requirement for degree completion.
