This program caters to various student groups, including incoming freshmen, returning students, transfer students, and seasoned recreation professionals. Community college students planning to transfer to this University should fulfill their general education requirements beforehand. Note that recreation courses from community colleges cannot replace upper-level recreation courses here. To continue in the program, students must maintain an overall 2.0 GPA and earn at least a C in every Recreation major course. If a student receives below a C in a required course, they must retake it. Those seeking course substitutions or exceptions to department requirements must submit a written request to the faculty. A maximum of six Recreation course units can be taken by special arrangement. The Internship, which receives letter grades (A-F), must be completed during the final semester before graduation and cannot be taken alongside other courses.
