The 30-credit Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Secondary Education, specializing in Creativity, Talent, and Transformation, equips students for higher-level teaching, mentoring, and leadership positions across educational settings. This program focuses on developing expertise in nurturing learning, creativity, talent development, and transformative education. Graduates gain qualifications for diverse roles including: mentoring program director, talent development specialist
classroom educator with advanced creative and gifted education training, performing/visual arts department head, honors/AP course instructor, academic program coordinator, extracurricular activity director, creativity facilitator, teaching coach
early college high school mentor, peer teaching advisor
community education expert, or college-level instructor.
This program also serves as preparation for doctoral education studies. No teaching certification or specific prerequisite courses are required for admission.
The Curriculum and Instruction Department (C&I) provides multiple graduate-level degrees and programs designed to support educators' professional growth. C&I additionally offers initial teaching certification programs (for non-certified individuals) that can be completed alongside or separate from a master's degree. Prospective students should verify any certification requirements related to their intended degree path at Texas State University.
