While the Mathematics for Secondary School Teachers (MSST) program primarily targets educators, it welcomes anyone seeking to enhance their knowledge of advanced mathematics and mathematics education. Participants can select foundational courses from the computational sciences curriculum as well. To enroll in the MSST program, candidates typically need a bachelor's degree in mathematics and secondary mathematics teaching certification. However, special consideration may be given to those without current certification if they will obtain it before completing the degree. Upon finishing the program, graduates will be capable of: Exhibiting expertise in a mathematical discipline (such as algebra, analysis, or geometry) and a teaching-related mathematical field (like curriculum design, learning theories, or mathematical history/philosophy), while understanding their interrelationships. Applying the knowledge gained from the first learning objective effectively in educational settings.
