The Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering Technology equips students with a solid technical foundation for participating in engineering initiatives. This curriculum addresses multiple components such as designing production processes and automated systems, developing novel products and manufacturing facilities, creating tooling solutions, implementing quality control and enhancement protocols, establishing testing and maintenance strategies, designing safety initiatives, and setting work methodologies and lean systems. Students may concentrate in Electrical Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or Mechanical Engineering Technology. The program mandates a 10-week, 400-hour industry internship. No minor is necessary for the B.S. in Engineering Technology degree.
The Engineering Technology Department's mission is to equip students for technical careers in industry and education. This mission is achieved through committed faculty delivering specialized programs with a rigorous technical emphasis. Graduates are ready to take on professionally responsible roles in manufacturing, construction, concrete industry management, computer-aided technologies, electronics, and education. Sixteen modern technical laboratories provide training in methods and procedures utilized by today's world-class industries.

First-time college applicants are required to graduate or have graduated from a foreign secondary school with an academic profile equivalent to that of a U.S. high school curriculum. Graduate with the equivalent of a U.S. high school diploma. When reviewing your application, Texas State will consider your high school curriculum, admission essay(s), extracurricular involvement, leadership, community service, work experience, quality and competitive level of courses taken and grades earned, in addition to other factors presented in your application. We strongly encourage anyone who is not offered freshman admission to attend another college, complete 30 hours of transferable credit with a minimum GPA of a 2.25, and apply for transfer admission.
