Our department provides a Master of Science in Civil Engineering, a comprehensive program that enhances students' knowledge in geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering, along with construction management.
M.S. Civil Engineering students may apply no more than 3 graduate-level courses (9 SCH) from disciplines outside Civil Engineering toward their degree. The initial three graduate-level courses (9 SCH) must be within Civil Engineering.
Thesis Track requires 30 credit hours in total, including 8 graduate-level courses (24 SCH) and successful defense of a thesis proposal and thesis (CEEN 5306, 6 SCH).
Research Project Track consists of 36 credit hours, with 11 graduate-level courses (33 SCH) and successful defense of a research project report (CEEN 5305, 3 SCH).
Course-Only Track totals 36 credit hours, requiring 12 graduate-level courses (36 SCH) and passing a comprehensive exam covering geotechnical, structural, transportation, and water resources engineering topics.
