By thoughtfully choosing your coursework, you can customize UIC's Master of Science in Civil Engineering program to align with your academic goals and career aspirations.

The MS in Civil Engineering offers two distinct pathways to degree completion:

The thesis track, designed for students interested in research experience and potentially pursuing doctoral studies. This option frequently leads to valuable industry connections that may provide career guidance, research opportunities, or financial support.

The non-thesis alternative, perfect for professionals seeking advanced knowledge or aiming for civil engineering licensure. This flexible option accommodates both part-time and full-time students.
