Our program provides performance experiences through diverse ensembles available to all university students, such as the university orchestra, symphonic and concert bands, pep band, jazz ensemble, university choir, Camerata Isla (chamber choir), and Corpus Christi Chorale. Music majors additionally engage in small chamber groups including string quartets, woodwind and brass ensembles, percussion groups, guitar ensembles, and others. As an accredited institution by the National Association of Schools of Music, we provide three undergraduate music degree options to support your professional aspirations: the Bachelor of Arts in Music, the Bachelor of Music with Teacher Certification, and the Bachelor of Music in Performance. The Bachelor of Arts in Music features two specialized paths: Music Industry Focus and Music Studies Focus. Students may also pursue a general Music Performance minor or a Music Industry minor, incorporating coursework in audio technology and music business.

The Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Music Department aims to cultivate students' musical perception, artistic appreciation, and analytical abilities. We fulfill this mission through a supportive, student-focused atmosphere where faculty and students collaborate to achieve these objectives: Preparing music majors for professional success in education, private instruction, music business, and performance; Offering music courses that introduce all students to essential musical concepts, diverse genres, historical contexts, music's societal roles, and live performance participation; Inspiring students to recognize music as an art form and pursue creative growth through study, performance, and production; Enhancing community arts and culture by presenting public concerts, recitals, and other musical engagements featuring faculty and students.
