The Master of Engineering program with a concentration in subsea engineering equips students with the scientific and technical expertise required for designing, constructing, deploying, and maintaining subsea systems. These specialized systems must function reliably in harsh underwater conditions to facilitate safe oil and gas extraction, often requiring installation by some of the largest offshore vessels globally.
Since offshore oil and gas expertise overlaps significantly with skills needed in the offshore wind sector, the Subsea Engineering curriculum incorporates training in wind energy applications and foundational knowledge for this growing industry.
Both degree tracks introduce all students to core subsea engineering principles. Participants can choose from specialized courses covering subsea components, control systems, umbilical networks, riser configurations, pipelines, and installation techniques. A key advantage of these programs is their customizable technical electives, enabling students to align their studies with personal or professional goals. Additionally, the curriculum includes business-focused courses that help engineers grasp commercial aspects, along with elective options to build vital project management competencies.
