The Bachelor of Science in Industrial Distribution equips graduates for roles in sales engineering, technical sales, supply chain management, operations management, sales management, and other leadership positions. Students gain preparation for careers in sectors such as aerospace, automation solutions, building materials, chemical and petrochemical, electrical, electronics, information systems and technology, healthcare, fluid power, general line, HVAC, management consulting, mechanical power, metals, oil and gas, plastics, pipe, valve, and fitting, plumbing, safety equipment, semiconductor, specialty tools, and welding. Industrial distributors or manufacturer's representatives face daily challenges that demand a professional with diverse skills. To meet this need, the curriculum includes studies in business, communications, finance, information technology, applied technology, general management, engineering, ethics, and human relations. This expertise enables graduates to interact effectively with executives, managers, engineers, scientists, and business analysts, assuming leadership roles in manufacturing, distribution, analysis, service, production planning, maintenance, or construction operations. Industrial distribution graduates support these entities by applying operational, business, and product knowledge directly. In essence, they serve as consultative resources for businesses—a demanding yet fulfilling career path that can lead to leadership opportunities across various industries. Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Distribution.
The mission and vision of the Industrial Distribution Program at Texas A&M University are to:
Equip graduates for mid-management roles in sales engineering, sales management, supply chain operations, and logistics management with wholesale distributors, who handle purchasing, warehousing, selling, distributing, and servicing diverse products, and with manufacturers that utilize distributors.
Perform applied research and establish new best practices in industrial distribution, logistics, and supply chain management to benefit the university and its industrial, governmental, and academic partners.
Offer service and leadership to advance the department, the university, and the industrial distribution field.
Sustain a nationally recognize
You are an international freshman if you:
are not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States or
are not graduating from a Texas high school after three years in residence in Texas and
are a student without college credit or
earned college credit prior to high school graduation (dual credit/early college high school)
English proficiency can also be demonstrated by:
Minimum TOEFL i-BT score of 80
Minimum TOEFL Essentials score of 8.5
Minimum IELTS Academic test score of 6.0 overall band (Texas A&M University does not accept the IELTS General test)
