The program equips students to tackle various challenges, such as innovating with advanced materials to fulfill future demands, reducing human labor through automation of hazardous and tedious tasks, and assembling and directing teams of engineering specialists. Our goal is to equip our diverse student body for successful careers that benefit both organizations and the broader community. Graduates will possess the ability to resolve intricate technical issues, meet societal demands, and engage in continuous education. The department effectively supports students in reaching the educational goals set for all CSUN undergraduate engineering programs, and in gaining the specialized expertise and abilities crucial for their professional work in manufacturing systems engineering, materials engineering, and engineering management to improve society, along with proficiency in designing, executing, and overseeing modern manufacturing and production techniques and systems.
