The Master of Science in Environmental Science provides three specialization tracks: Geospatial Sciences, Natural Resources, and Plant Sciences. Students can choose between thesis and non-thesis pathways. For the thesis option across all concentrations - Geospatial Sciences, Natural Resources, and Plant Sciences - students must complete at least twenty-six (26) course credits plus a four (4) credit thesis. Degree candidates in all concentrations need to fulfill eighteen (18) core credits including AGSC 5060, AGSC 5110, AGSC 5120, AGSC 5500 or AGSC 5510, AGSC 5260, AGSC 5610, and AGSC 5620, along with twelve (12) concentration-specific credits. The non-thesis alternative requires thirty-five (35) course credits, with eleven (11) core credits (AGSC 5060, AGSC 5110, AGSC 5350, AGSC 5610, AGSC 5620) and fifteen (15) concentration credits, all subject to approval by both the Advisor and Department Chair.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants must have the equivalent of a bachelor's degree with a major in one of the Agricultural Sciences or Environmental Sciences or Forestry or Geography or related areas, a minimum quality grade point average of 2.50 on a 4.00 scale, and a minimum score of 290 on the GRE (verbal and quantitative) or 370 on the MAT for unconditional admission.
