The M.S.C.E. program equips students to enhance their technical expertise in Civil and Environmental Engineering. It fosters intellectual growth by encouraging the pursuit and application of knowledge, shaping students into engaged, articulate, and socially conscious professionals. Program graduates play vital roles in advancing civil and environmental engineering fields. The curriculum promotes cross-disciplinary research, partnering with other engineering disciplines as well as science and applied mathematics departments. Current partnerships with Mechanical Engineering involve studies on aquifer dynamics and oil spill dispersion in turbulent waters, while collaborations with Chemistry focus on combustion byproducts and surface reactions. Specializations include:
Civil Engineering Systems – covering construction, structural, and transportation engineering.
Environmental Engineering – addressing water resources, natural system pollution, and remediation technologies.
Temple University's Master of Science in Civil Engineering prepares you to design and sustain critical infrastructure—from bridges to water systems—while honing geotechnical and structural analysis capabilities. Beyond technical mastery, the program cultivates your ability to address societal infrastructure challenges with thoughtful, innovative solutions as a well-rounded engineering professional.
