The Master's program in Collaborative Piano and Chamber Music equips pianists with the skills to perform in small groups and accompany solo musicians. This NASM-accredited program trains students to: actively listen to multiple ensemble elements simultaneously, master rehearsal techniques, understand how lyrics influence musical interpretation, recognize various ensemble roles based on instrumentation, and enhance piano proficiency for challenging chamber and accompaniment pieces. Participants can choose between full-time or part-time enrollment to suit their schedules. All classes are held at Temple University's Main Campus. Before starting, students must complete Diagnostic Exams covering aural skills, counterpoint, harmony, and music history. The program culminates with a comprehensive final project, either written or oral, exploring aspects of music composition, history, performance, and technique.
