The Master of Education (MEd) in Secondary Education program addresses the evolving requirements and academic disciplines of modern secondary education. Designed for both recent college graduates and employed professionals holding non-education bachelor's degrees, this advanced program equips participants to instruct students in grades 7-12 within their selected specialization, including English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, or World Languages. The curriculum provides multiple routes to initial teaching certification across various subjects and through different program structures. Each pathway requires completing coursework equivalent to a major in the chosen field, alongside educational theory and teaching methodology classes that develop skills for effectively educating adolescents in specific subjects. This graduate degree offers flexible scheduling options, with part-time or full-time enrollment available through evening courses at Temple University's Main Campus in Philadelphia. A mandatory full-time student teaching component is included in the program requirements.
