Decision neuroscience offers fresh perspectives on the processes driving various economic and social behaviors, including risk-taking, purchasing decisions, generosity, and teamwork. This area represents a model of cross-disciplinary collaboration, bringing together experts from business, economics, engineering, neuroscience, philosophy, physics, and psychology to deepen our understanding of decision-making processes and preferences. The Fox School of Business and Management partners with the College of Liberal Arts' Psychology Department to offer an interdisciplinary Ph.D. in Decision Neuroscience. Fox School's Center for Applied Research in Decision Making has pioneered advancements in this field for the past six years, while Temple University's Psychology Department has consistently excelled in brain and cognitive science studies. Program participants develop comprehensive knowledge of key topics in decision neuroscience and its specialized areas like neuroeconomics and neuromarketing. With a distinctive focus on bridging scientific discoveries with practical challenges, this program caters to students seeking to explore the convergence of neuroscience and business applications.

Qualification Requirements

Master's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: A master's degree is not required.
Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from every college and university you have attended. The ideal candidate has earned a GPA of 3.7 in both undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: All applicants must present credentials that are the equivalent of the appropriate baccalaureate degree at Temple University.

Statement of Goals: Approximately 500 to 1,000 words include your specific interest in Temple's program, your research goals, your future career goals, and your academic and research achievements.

Standardized Test Scores:
GMAT/GRE: Required. GMAT scores are preferred, in some cases, GRE scores may be substituted. In general, scores above the 90th percentile are expected on each portion of the exam.

Applicants who earned their baccalaureate degree from an institution where the language of instruction was other than English, with the exception of those who subsequently earned a master's degree in a country where the language of instruction is English, must report scores for a standardized test of English that meet these minimums:
