The Bioinformatics Ph.D. program is a collaborative initiative between the Biology, Chemistry, and Computer and Information Sciences Departments, leveraging the extensive expertise of faculty within the College of Science and Technology. Designed for highly qualified candidates, it provides an alternative to the Biology Ph.D. program for those pursuing computational genomics research across multiple disciplines. Students receive comprehensive advanced training through coursework covering key bioinformatics research areas. Although administered by the Biology Department, the program involves faculty from various departments, allowing students to work with advisors from diverse academic backgrounds.
